This is my first official post with the new website. We are working hard on the newsletter options which will include Jumpstart Mondays, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I’ll be musing on different things, sharing my thoughts and feelings, ups and downs, and my gratitude for an opportunity to do so.

Yesterday we dropped off our niece in the morning and then a few hours later, drove back to the airport to drop off our two college kids. They go back for 1-2 weeks and then will be here for Christmas.

As I watched our kids walk together into the airport, I was struck by how many good-byes and hellos we have over the course of our lives. Whether it’s people or events or circumstances, our lives are a series of changes…of welcoming new things (or trying to hold them at bay :)) and letting go of things that are no longer a regular part of our lives or that we’ve chosen to release.

As we enter the last month of 2013, we are saying good-bye to another year. Was it a good one for you? Or was it filled with challenges? For me it was a year of redefining and moving inward to discover what I truly want out of my life and my career as an author. It was filled with lots of changes–a second kid graduated and off to college, our youngest learning to drive (she’s doing great!), rededicating myself to my meditation and yoga practice, devoting more time to watching extended family members doing various activities, saying good-bye to one agent and hello to another, letting go of self-imposed deadlines with my novel that weren’t serving me…

I’d love to hear what the year was like for you and offer my cheers for successes, my support for hard times, and my joy at having you along on this journey with me.
