Denise Vega is the award-winning author of seven books from toddler to teen, includingAdela’s Mariachi Band/Los Mariachis de Adela (one of the Best Board & Picture Books of 2024 by the Chicago Public Library-English edition, one of the Best Kids Books of 2024 by the New York Public Library-English and Spanish editions, Bookstagang Best Read Aloud of 2024, 2025-26 Tejas Star Reading List (Spanish edition), CLEL (Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy) Bell winner in the SING category, Spanish edition shortlisted for CLEL Bell SING category), If Your Monster Won’t Go to Bed, a 2018 Crystal Kite Award winner, as well as other picture books and middle grade and young adult books. Denise lives in Denver with her family where she loves to hike, walk, swim, read, eat homemade French fries, listen to mariachi music and watch out for monsters.
