It’s just a draft that I’ve handed over to my writers group and when we meet in December they will give me tons of feedback and I’ll have tons of work to do with revisions but that’s OK. It’s a great feeling to have this part finished. Writers know that every step of the process must be celebrated because too much time goes by between submission and acceptance or rejection. And it’s a solitary profession, even though we have all these characters keeping us company and/or driving us crazy.

So, I’m celebrating the 266 pages I finished and gave to my group. And I’m celebrating the 50 pages that I pulled out of the manuscript because I didn’t need them – at least not right now. I saved them just in case.
