FREE 10-15 MINUTE MEET ‘N GREET!

I offer a free 10-15 minute meet ‘n greet/Q&A Skype session. The only requirement is that your group or class has read at least one of my books before the visit. See Tips for a Successful Virtual Visit for more information on how to make the most of our online time together.

You may be across the country but that doesn't mean we can't visit! If you have video conferencing available via Skype or another means, I can visit your students or group virtually.

Most of my in-person sessions - including writing and revising workshops - can be tailored for a virtual visit so check out my brochure (requires Adobe® Reader®) for session topics and descriptions.

Some sessions designed exclusively for virtual visits are:

  • Tour de Office (including a sneak peek into my snack drawer)
  • Can Denise Really Work in That Mess?
  • Confessions of a Procrastinating Writer

Autographed copies of books sent to schools, libraries, and groups who set up and complete a paid Skype visit.  Fees vary depending on type and length of session. Contact Denise through the VISIT FORM for more information.

Tips for a
Successful Virtual Visit

  • Test your equipment in advance. I’m happy to log in 15-20 minutes early for a test, then you can call me back when the group is assembled and ready.
  • Make sure the audience has read or is familiar with at least one of my books
  • If possible, review my Bio-to-Go pages so they know a bit about me. They are free to ask questions about my family, food preferences, and such.
  • Prepare questions in advance. Kids, especially very young ones, tend to repeat whatever they last heard if put on the spot. To avoid repetition and “stage fright,” help them come up with questions ahead of time.
  • Select questions that will provide a variety of responses and know who will be asking the questions. Make sure they are prepared (have them practice asking) to maximize your time.
  • If kids can’t read or write yet, have them “prepare” questions with visual cues or you, the teacher, can feed them questions.
  • Have fun! I always do.

KEYNOTE AND FEATURED SPEAKER REQUESTS
