Jumpstart #3: Character Fears (part 2)

Posted by on September 24, 2012

INTRO: Every Monday is Jumpstart Monday so I will be trying out things to help me get into my writing for the week; hopefully these will help you too.

JumpStart #2, part 2: Last week we used used a character from a w-i-p (work-in-progress) or a new character and wrote down one of his/her fears. Then we wrote a short scene where another character unknowingly confronts our character with that fear.

This week, take the same character and the same fear and write a short scene where another character knowingly confronts your character with that fear. This other character may or may not be the primary antagonist (if you have one).

Observe how this scene differs from the one you wrote last week. In what ways did your character respond differently than in last week’s scene? Why do you think s/he did respond differently? Note any new things you may have discovered about your character.

Tomorrow I’ll share my own scene.
