I loved your book. It was reeeeeally cool! I read it again
and again, and it never gets old! I can't wait for the sequel. Ooh... I always
thought it would be cool if Tyler liked Rosie, but Erin liked Tyler, but Mark
liked Erin. I dunno if Rosie should like Mark, though. Anywho, AWESOME BOOK! =)
-Mystery Person, 7th
grade
Dear
Mystery Person,
Thank
you SO much! Wow. I like your ideas about who would like who. Hmm, it would have
been fun to have Rosie and Tyler together – I never thought of that! I’ll be
interested to hear what you think about who likes who in the sequel!
Happy
day!
XOXO,
Denise

OmG such a great book! Istarted to read it in the beginning
of semptember.I read it 3 times and im about to buy it. Was anybody
african-american in it? i know its a stupid question but im african ameerican
and i'm never able to find anyone in books that are. stupid question i know but
i cant help wondering.
Q:
When jilly came back with hair messed up was it because of
her and mark did u know what?
Q: are middle schools really that big?( im from CA no middle
school) :(
Q: since the book is recent will they mention hannah montanna
and stuff?
Thanks for listening
-Rebecca, 7th
grade
Dear
Rebecca,
That’s
my sister’s name—yea! Three times? Whoa.
I
love your question! I didn’t have any particular ethnic group in mind for some
of the characters and I think some of the characters could be African-American
as much as Asian or Latino, etc. You raise a great point, though, and it really
made me think! There are some great authors writing about African American
young people—Sharon Draper, Walter Dean Myers, Angela Johnson, Sharon Flake,
Jacqueline Woodson, Christopher Paul Curtis, Rita Williams Garcia, and one of
my pals here in Colorado, Traci L. Jones.
Other
answers: Jilly and Mark were just making out, that’s all :-) Yes, many middle
schools are that big – and bigger! I got the track idea from my niece, whose
school had 4-5 “tracks” except they called them “teams.” Crazy, isn’t it? And
finally, I’m always torn between including current stuff like Hannah Montana
and other things and not including them because if the book is still hanging in
there in a few years, those things may be out of style. So, I don’t include a
lot of stuff like that, even though Erin and the gang might like them!
XOXO,
Denise

Dear
Mystery Person,
I
love that you want to read it more than once! Very cool about the book club –
tell us more about it, like how often you meet, how you pick the books, and
stuff like that.
I
wish the sequel was coming out sooner too but we all have to wait. In the meantime,
I’m glad there are so many other good books out there to read while we’re
waiting! If you want to know right away when the sequel is available, consider
signing up for my Shout Out on the Contact Denise page. Just remember that
if you’re under 13, we’ll need the email for your parent/guardian to tell them
about our privacy policy.
You’re
awesome too!!!

Hi Denise!
I just litterally finished reading Click Here! I really liked it!(even the part about the
mean girl's name being Serena! lol) Your book talks about pretty much
everything real 7th graders do! I loved the main character Erin, even though we
don't have much in common! I guess im more like Jilly!
Anyway I plan on looking for and reading more of your books
like Click Here. I plan on Fact of Life #31 next! Ihope it's just as good, and

Tuesday, October 28, 2008 — HOW CAN I GET A BOY TO LIKE
ME?
I need some advice!!! I like the heartthrob of my grade and
so do alot of other people. He can't date until next year and alot of girls
will ask him out. I heard he likes other girls but not me! What am i supposed
to do! I really want him to like me! I am kinda like Jilly and Erin with Mark!
Do you have any advice for me??
-May, grade withheld
Dear
May,
Boy,
can I relate to THAT. When I was in middle school there was this hottie named Greg
and everyone liked him. He liked my best friend, Mary, and a few other girls
but never ME. It’s so hard when someone you like doesn’t like you back. Since
we can’t force someone to have feelings for us, the best thing to do is be yourself. Be nice and fun and let him see that you are a
great person and get to know him as a friend and be his friend. Since he can’t
date until next year, you have time to see what happens. A lot can change in
that time—your feelings for him or his feelings for those other girls. Have fun
and be a good friend—to both boys and girls.
XOXO,
Denise

Hi Denise-
I just recently read Click Here and I was wondering if and
when you will have a sequel (if there is not one already). Anyway, Click Here
is like my life recorded on paper. It's so weird (yet really cool). Thanks a
lot!!!
- Elizabeth
P.S. When is your birthday (sorry if that sounds like a
stalker question)?
-Elizabeth, 7ht

Dear
Elizabeth,
I
love how you said “my life, recorded on paper.” Wow! That’s amazing. I’m so
happy you liked it so much. And yes, the sequel to CLICK HERE is coming out in July.
You can check out the cover on the Books

I loved this book! I randomly grabbed it off the shelf at the
library. It really described my grade 7 life. Minus the blog stuff and the
making out. The boy trouble and jealousy. This book is hilarious and I hope the
next one comes out soon!
-Lori, 8th

Dear
Lori,
Thanks
so much! I’m so glad you discovered my book when you were in the library. And
it sounds like you have had to deal with a lot of drama – lucky you!
BTW,
the next one will be out next summer so hopefully you can check it out.

Hi again this is the same rebecca from the other message.
Sorry to bother you but i forgot to ask something does Erin have braces because
in the picture theres braces but i don't think it was mentioned it in the book.
If she did have braces thats so cool because im about to get
some. WHOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
-Rebecca, 7th
grade
Dear
Rebecca,
Hi,
again to you! Great question. The pic on the front is
just sort of representative of kids that age since a lot of them have braces. I
never pictured Erin with them so I didn’t mention them but enough people have
asked that I put Jilly in braces in the sequel!
Good
luck with YOUR braces!!!

Denise

omg i read it twice last month and thought it was so cool!
I've had this sudden obssesion for snickers bars, i never knew they tasted so
good! and the whole counting the seconds thing was sooo funny. Im in 7th grade
too but not from america and where i live theres no middle school totally
sucks:(
I am so gonna buy a paiir of chucks!
-Rebecca, 7th
grade
Dear
Rebecca,
You
rock! I love how you connected with a lot of the little things in the book. And
it’s cool that there’s no middle school for you – seventh grade can still be
crazy! My kids go to a parochial school that’s preschool – 8th so
they’re kind of in the same situation.
Speaking
of Chucks, I’m due for new pair…!

Dear Denise,
I just finished "Click Here" and i LOVED it!!!!
I just love how it applies to real life! This is definetly one of my new favorite
books!! I can't wait until the second book!!<3
P.S. Two wierd things about my life that is the same as
Erin's in the book:
Well my name is Erin and this boy in my class who I have a
crush on is named Marc!! Funny!!
<3 Love Erin
-Erin, 8th
grade
Dear
Erin,
I
always love getting a message from an actual “Erin.” That’s so cool! And how
funny that you have a crush on a guy named Marc – ooh, I like that spelling, wish
I’d used that in the book.
Very
cool that you felt the book applied to real life and you’re excited for the
sequel. If you want to hear about it right away when it’s available, consider
joining my Shout Out, where you’ll get occasional announcements from me and
also a newsletter 4 times a year. Just go to the Contact Denise page, then click Shout Out and follow the instructions.

Hi Denise! I just love the book Click Here and I'm dying to
read the sequel!
I have a question about Access Denied:
Will Erin and Mark be a couple in that book?
I wanted them to get together in Click Here, but I guess you
planned something different!
Waiting for your reply!
-Mystery Person, 7th
grade
Dear
Mystery Person,
You
know I can’t answer that question, girl. I don’t want to spoil the book for
anyone! I will tell you that she has her share of boy problems in the sequel
and doesn’t always get what she wants.
I
have had a lot of readers ask me why Erin and Mark didn’t end up together at
the end of CLICK HERE as boyfriend/girlfriend. I’ve answered this in different
ways but I’d love to hear why others think I might have done that.
Have
an awesome day!
XOXO,
Denise

I read the book "Click here to find out how I survived
seventh grade". On the last page it said that you have another book that
explains how you survived eighth grade. But you never published a book
called" Click here to find out how I survived EIGHTH grade." Are you
working on it???? I loved the seventh grade book.I read it in two days and if
you don't write an eighth grade one I would be very dissapointed.
-Mystery Person, 7th
grade
Dear
Mystery Person,
You
have a good eye. When Erin writes that in her last blog entry, she’s really
just joking around, like the way she has a Snickers link. But I did end up
writing a sequel, and it’s called ACCESS DENIED (and other eighth grade error
messages). It comes out in July and I hope you like it!
If
you want to be one of the first to hear that it’s available, consider joining

Hey! I just finished reading your book, Click Here, today. It
was awesome! I heard you're making a sequel, I can't wait! Erin is a lot like me,
except for the sporty part. I love computers, Chuck Taylors (we call them
Converse), and candy. And I have braces.
But I just wanted to thank you for making this book. I hope I
can survive 7th grade without making a mistake that big! Lol!
